We envision a future where every child has access to books, discovers the joy of reading, and develops the literacy skills needed to succeed in school, in life, and in their communities.
Purpose
Young Readers Collective is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes to improve literacy outcomes among children by increasing access to books, supporting reading enrichment opportunities, and engaging families and communities in fostering lifelong learning.

Welcome to Young Readers Collective.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Young Readers Collective was born from a simple belief: every child deserves a book of their own and every child deserves the opportunity to discover where reading can take them.
Being a retired elementary school teacher, I’ve seen firsthand what happens when a child is given a book that is chosen just for them. Their face lights up. They hold it a little tighter. They begin to imagine, wonder, ask questions, and dream. A book can be a gift, a doorway, a comfort, and sometimes the beginning of a lifelong love of learning.
Not every child has a home filled with books or easy access to them. That’s where Young Readers Collective comes in.
Our mission is to put books into the hands of children who need them most, while creating meaningful partnerships with schools, libraries, families, businesses, and community organizations. We want to make reading more accessible, more joyful, and more personal for children throughout our community.
We believe that literacy is about much more than learning to read. It is about confidence, imagination, opportunity, and belonging.
That’s why our work goes beyond simply distributing books. We are creating experiences that make children excited about reading. Whether it’s choosing a book from a book cart, receiving a special book bundle, discovering a new story at a community event, or bringing home a book that becomes a favorite.
And we believe in the power of community.
Young Readers Collective is built on the idea that when we come together — parents, educators, volunteers, businesses, nonprofits, libraries, and neighbors — we can create something much bigger than any one of us could create alone.
Our vision is simple:
